Melva Payne

Melva Payne moved from the educational field into the commercial industry in 1981 when she joined Texaco, Inc. in Houston, Texas. There, she worked in the systems management and product development departments of the exploration and producing area of Texaco. From Texaco, she joined Power Computing Company in Dallas, Texas where she traveled nationwide as a leader in their software quality assurance program.
Payne joined DCSS in September 1990 as Branch Manager of the New Orleans office. Payne was elected to the Board of Directors in 1991. She has solid experience in personnel management, branch management, and recruiting. She currently serves as a LabAnswer Vice President.
Payne taught at several universities including the University of Kentucky, the University of Houston, and Cumberland College.
Payne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Berea College in Kentucky and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Kentucky.
